  • Contains antioxidants
  • Is high in protein
  • Has omega 3’s
  • Packed with super greens
  • Cheaper and yummier than a smoothie shop
  • Can be made in less than 5 minutes

Ingredient notes

  • Protein Powder: I love Just Ingredients protein powder. It is made with 100% grass-fed not denatured New Zealand whey without carrageenan. As well as pea protein, pumpkin seed protein and chia seed protein to make it easy to digest. The best is that it has no artificial ingredients, dyes or preservatives. It’s the best tasting and cleanest protein powder I have been able to find. Use my affiliate code “cookieeclub” to save 10% off every time you order. Just plain is my favorite flavor of protein powder for smoothies and baking.
  • Greens: Use 1-2 cups of fresh or frozen spinach or else I like using 2 scoops of Amazing Greens smoothie mix with probiotics for added gut health. Either option works great in this recipe.
  • Fruit: Use fresh or frozen fruit. If using fresh fruit make sure the berries are washed and dried beforehand to remove any pesticides, etc from them. If you are not using a frozen banana use a handful of ice for a thick and yummy smoothie. Like a milkshake texture.

Recipe Variations:

  • Omit the berries and replace the greek yogurt with 1/2 cup of coconut cream for a Mango Coconut Green Smoothie
  • If you don’t like mangos use pineapple instead
  • Try using Just Ingredients strawberry protein powder instead of the Just Plain Protein Powder. Omit the mangos and use spinach instead powdered greens for a berries and banana smoothie.

How to make the smoothie

  1. Add all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Make sure there are not chunks of fruit left un mixed. If not using a frozen banana and a handful of ice to get a thick smoothie.
  2. Pour the smoothie into 4 eight oz glasses or 2 sixteen oz glasses and enjoy right away.

Necessary Kichen Accessories

  1. A high speed blender with a soft blade. Blendtec is my favorite blender brand. Next is Vitamix.
  2. 4 eight oz cups
  3. or 2 sixteen oz cups
  4. Glass straws

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen berries

  • Pour the smoothie into 4 (8oz) cups or 2 (16 oz) cups.

Notes

*The frozen fruit can be swapped for fresh fruit but make sure to add a few handfuls of ice to get a creamy texture. Without the ice the smoothie will not be as thick. It will be more runny.
